As part of the Blue Peace Middle East initiative activities, the Turkish Water Institute (SUEN) organized a regional workshop and study tour on "Good Governance in Irrigation" from June 3-6, 2024, in Adana, Türkiye. Supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), this event brought together 25 irrigation professionals from Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Türkiye. The four-day programme explored governance practices essential for sustainable irrigation, aligning with Blue Peace ME’s goal of promoting regional water cooperation. Participants engaged in interactive sessions and field visits, learning about Türkiye's innovative irrigation systems, including AI-supported automation and advanced sensor-based technologies. Visits to the Seyhan and Zerdali Dams provided firsthand insights into modern water management strategies, resulting in significant water savings. The programme concluded with participants sharing their countries' irrigation practices and challenges, fostering a vibrant exchange of knowledge.
