Under the esteemed patronage of HRH Prince Hassan bin Talal, Blue Peace Middle East (Blue Peace ME) celebrated the conclusion of its inaugural youth fellowship programme on July 24, 2024, in Amman. The five-month programme, which involved six fellows from across the region, blended online and in-person learning with field visits, workshops, and mentorship from leading experts. The fellows, representing Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Türkiye, were equipped with the knowledge and skills to become Blue Peace ME Youth Ambassadors, promoting the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem (WEFE) Nexus and transboundary water cooperation. During the event, speakers emphasized the critical role of youth in advancing sustainable water management and fostering regional collaboration. The fellows took an official oath, committing to use their skills and knowledge to promote peace and water cooperation in the region, marking the start of their journey as ambassadors for the initiative. This milestone event sets the stage for future cohorts, continuing the mission to empower young leaders to address water challenges through cooperation and innovation.
