Description

The project leveraged the dam's 600,000 cubic meter capacity, previously untapped, for hydroponics and sediment cleaning. This effort revitalized the dam, transforming it into a resource hub that supports advanced agricultural practices. INWRDAM coordinated with local authorities and community leaders, receiving 250 applications and selecting 75 beneficiaries through rigorous criteria and interviews. These participants underwent comprehensive training in life skills, smart hydroponics, and product marketing, ultimately selecting 48 individuals to manage agricultural units, thus benefiting their families and fostering community development. The project's first training season saw the cultivation of diverse crops, including tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers, with impressive production rates. For instance, greenhouse tomatoes yielded between 2 to 3 tons per cycle, showcasing high-quality output and effective market integration. This initiative not only provided sustainable income and advanced agricultural skills to 50 families but also significantly enhanced their quality of life. The collaborative approach, involving stakeholders from various sectors, underscored the project's importance in promoting sustainable development and climate resilience. The Sama Sarham Project exemplifies INWRDAM's commitment to integrating innovative agricultural practices with community empowerment, setting a model for future initiatives aimed at sustainable development and climate resilience. The project stands as a testament to INWRDAM's dedication to fostering sustainable development through collaborative efforts and innovative practices. This project has made a lasting impact on the community, paving the way for a brighter, more sustainable future for Jordan and beyond.
