“Working Together for a Water-Secure Future”

Under the patronage of HRH Prince Hassan Bin Talal, INWRDAM will conduct a one-day symposium “Working Together for a Water-Secure Future” which will take place on the Grand Hyatt, Amman, Jordan, February 9th 2020, in the presence of INWRDAM member states focal points and ambassadors to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, a selected professionals of decision-makers in the field of water management, Jordanian ministers of Water, Environment, Agriculture and a selected presidents of Jordanian universities to discuss the achievements and future plans of INWRDAM for better serve of its member states’ needs.

INWRDAM’s mission is to promote awareness, shape political commitment and stimulate action on critical water issues on all levels. It also aims to support high-level decision making while facilitating the efficient preservation, protection, growth and development for the equal benefit of human dignity and the ecosystem. We provide a podium to inspire discussions and interactions of experiences, as INWRDAM aims to reach a common planned image on water resources and water services management amongst all our network members and associates.

 

INWRDAM also endorses creativities and actions whose results converge toward its objective of Water Diplomacy and Integrated Trans-boundary Water Management.

This symposium is driven by the commitment of INWRDAM towards the OIC water vision 2013-2025 which was adopted by the 2nd Islamic Conference of Water Ministers held in Istanbul in March 2012 and calls for knowledge sharing; collaborative activities, policy and management support and efficient management of transboundary basins.

The upcoming symposium will utilize a demand-driven approach to arrive at the following objectives:

• Use case study-based discussions to develop a 5-year trans-boundary water management vision to be adopted by INWRDAM. Case study discussions will include Tigress/Euphrates river basin, Indus river basin, Nile river basin, Niger River basin and Aral river basin.

• Develop a road map for enhancing the resilience of local communities in vulnerable basins.

• Develop a 5-year action plan and partnerships to achieve the OIC water vision objectives.
