The 12th Managing Committee (MC) meeting of Blue Peace Middle East (Blue Peace ME) was held in Izmir, Türkiye, on April 19-20, 2024. The event gathered Managing Committee members to discuss ongoing projects and set future goals for fostering water cooperation and peace. Key discussions focused on the Water Footprint Study, examining water use across Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Türkiye, with plans to present findings at major international conferences. Participants also visited innovative water management sites, including the Artificial Groundwater Recharge Facility in Tire and the Kiraz Suludere Underground Dam, highlighting Türkiye’s advanced techniques in addressing water challenges. The meeting underscored the importance of regional collaboration and sustainable solutions for the Middle East.
