Jordan

Key focus of INWRDAM’s initiatives

Jordan stands as a key focus of INWRDAM’s initiatives, where our efforts are deeply embedded in addressing the nation's critical water and agricultural challenges. Through pioneering projects like the Design and Implementation of Rainwater Harvesting 3Rs Practices and Policy Dialogue, we aim to transform water management in the northern regions, including Azraq, Mafraq, and the North Jordan Valley. This project, supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and implemented with partners such as Acacia Water and IHE Delft, targets enhancing groundwater recharge, flood risk reduction, and water reuse.

In Jordan, our Smart DESERT Project exemplifies our commitment to sustainable agriculture. By utilizing untapped water resources from the Sama Al-Sarhan Dam for innovative hydroponics and sediment cleaning, we have empowered local communities, provided training in advanced agricultural techniques, and fostered economic growth. The successful integration of water, food, and energy resources demonstrates INWRDAM’s role in driving climate resilience and sustainable development.
