The Wise Vision
Water Innovation for Sustainable Economy
The primary goal of the WISE vision was to develop innovative water solutions that can be implemented in agriculture, industry and services to enhance both the quality and quantity of water resources. This involved tackling the issues of water scarcity and pollution by promoting water saving practices, improving efficiency in water usage and encouraging the reuse and recycling of water resources. The WISE vision also recognized the significance of eco-friendly wastewater solutions like constructed wetlands in order to combat the increasing problem of wastewater being released into the environment. Furthermore, the duration of the project from 2109-2021, as it acknowledged existing challenges related to water and the environment as opportunities for change while seeking to harness the potential of wastewater as a valuable resource.
Moreover, the WISE vision was accomplished in partnership with USAID, MERCE Corp and NARC, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as it helped to reduce poverty, improved productivity, encouraged the use of treated wastewater, promote responsible management of water resources in dry and semi-arid regions, tackle the effects of climate change and facilitate dialogue among different water stakeholders at different levels.
